A previous employer introduced Diana Miller to the Coffman Group; over the next year she progressed through the skill levels of the Coffman Lifetime Mastery classes. She found the program so beneficial that when she left that employer, she decided to invest her own funds and join the Coffman Career Institute, an individually funded track.
“That’s how much I believe in their system,” she said of the Coffman group. “I pay for it myself. With their system you are there every week,” she explained. “It’s not like those seminars where you are pumped up for two or three weeks then you go right back to your bad habits. They hold you accountable for as long as you participate.”
The investment has paid off for Diana in multiple ways. First, she is back at the top of her game. She had spent 19 years achieving top sales levels at several companies in the printing industry and was ready for a change—but a little concerned about leaving her comfortable little niche. She says Coffman helped her recognize her assets and develop ways to present them to someone else, whether a prospective client or prospective employer.
“They also helped me manage my own time and recognize when I’m not being productive,” she said, “and I learned to help each prospect ‘self-discover’ their need, or lack of need for my service. Whether you close a deal or close a file, it’s all about asking the right questions. ‘No’ is OK; it means you can move on and succeed elsewhere.”
Because of their established working relationships with area sales employers, Coffman was also able to help Diana connect with—and receive offers from—several firms seeking quality sales representatives. As a result, she has a new opportunity in a new field, and she credits Coffman with helping her make the leap.
